One of the most pressing and urgent needs in the Body of Christ and in our nation is--the need for effective godly leadership. We have heard it often: ‘everything rises or falls on leadership’. Whatever condition we see in the Church and in America reflects on our leadership! Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Leader of all leaders. Therefore, we must learn from Him how to develop leaders! The Kingdom Template for developing leaders is the Jesus Way, i, e., making disciples. Discipleship is the root and pathway to leadership in the Kingdom of God--not just in the Church, but also in the 7 Mountains of Culture. Some of you may recoil at the word, discipleship. Back in the 1970s, there was a Discipleship Move of God and a Faith Move of God going on. These Moves heralded much needed truth to the Body of Christ. However both of them included some misapplications of the truth. In the Discipleship Move, you could find some examples of extreme submission to men. In the Faith Move, Kenneth Hagin called together some of his spiritual sons and counseled them concerning extremes on the matters of faith and prosperity. (Every move of God in history has included some misapplication. Even the Reformation in 16h century Europe. (Just ask Martin Luther about the Peasants Revolt). I personally benefited from both of these Movements even though I never officially linked with them in an apostolic way.
